That Racist guy who worte this sh*t is truly a devil. He knows that blacks need to come together , unify and do projects on our own to help build prestige in our community. BET is not a racist channel, but what it is, is some white man's interpretation of how we think, act, and want to see. Look at the lineup of shows. Generally speaking, it is hip hop music all day long and then "reality" TV. I think back to that first season of "College Hill" from Southern University (from which I am a proud alum [Spr '01]). I considered myself to be the average college student at any HBCU. "College Hill" did not portray my experience in any way. Look at "Uncut," the one thong shy of pornographic music videos that is played at about 2 am (depending where you reside), followed by 5 or 6 hours of gospel programming. Is this what they think we are all about? They took the nightly news off. BET was supposed to be established so that black people in American had a voice and a way to keep in touch with what is going on in our community. It is my feeling that the white owners of this station had this in mind from the beginning.

This is just one black man's opinion. I choose not to watch BET because I feel the driving force behind the station is not sincere and not is the best interest of black people. I am not saying we should boycott it, but I do think we should question the programming and the reasoning behind it. Peace and love.

He said that Blacks can be prejudiced 'an opinion held in disregard of facts that contradict it' in regard to race. However, he made the social argument that prejudice when practiced by the powerful majority to dissociate members of a different race from rights, advantages, etc actually put the prejudice in motion causing a harmful, tangible result thereby referred to as 'racist'. Now over the last 25-30 years ago people have used the words interchangably, and I notice that Webster also has a more generic definition of the word. So I would say that in today's social system 'racist' can be applied to anyone who verbalizes or acts out prejudiced ideas and mind sets.
The 'racist' on here is a self-defined 'racist', therefore I believe he is by virtue of the fact that he refers to himself as such.
