SylkyDivaSylkyDiva was born in Montgomery, Alabama; the cradle of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and The Civil Rights Movement. She is an experienced singer, songwriter, actress and vocal coach. SylkyDiva has just finished recording her debut CD titled ?Sultry, Sexy Sassy, Classy?, which includes her original material as well as two cover tunes. Her album features a broad mix of R&B, Jazz, Blues, Neo-soul and Classical fusions (styles). The title of SylkyDiva?s album; ?Sultry, Sexy, Sassy, Classy? also describes this new artist with a style that is breath taking. She was inspired by artist such as Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Jennifer Holliday, Kelly Price and Angie Stone. SylkyDiva has performed in a variety of venues from outdoor and indoor festivals, concert halls and even The World Famous Apollo Theatre with The Alabama State University Choir. She has performed with famous artist such as The S.O.S Band, Rough Ends and Roger Troutman and Zapp as opening act. She has also exhibited her vocal skills as a lead and background vocalist with the Legendary Ronnie Lovejoy and on various CDs for other artist. She has revealed her acting skills as well. She played ?Effie? in ?Dream Girls?, Mama Joe? in ?My Son, My Son? and ?Evillene? in ?The Wiz? to name a few. In addition to performing, she also enjoys writing songs. She has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Education and graduated Magna Cum laude. Her educational background assists her in composing lyrics, developing the melodies and harmonies and identifying the themes and variations for all of her works. SylkyDiva has also been involved in the arrangements of each of the songs on her new album.
